Oil on canvas
Painting by Jeanine Givens
Our lives are connected to infinite pathways, where each trail leads us to something novel and diverse. Among these exist two paths called the greater good and bad. This painting, called “Life Lines,” represents the abstract impression of these two paths.
The primary idea of “Life Lines” is to remind you that no matter how many paths your life has, they are all connected to a greater good. Every decision you make can spawn a different trail in your life – after all, you’re the one who constructs these paths in the first place by your experiences and resolutions. The main question is; did you enjoy the moment while it lasted?
There’s no doubt that everything we do impacts our lives considerably, either in a good or bad way. “Life Lines” is a depiction of the different paths of life we encounter in our journey in this world. Some paths lead you towards change; some take you in the direction of growth; some are created by people, while your actions form others. However, every choice you make can change your life forever and take you to a different path (better or worse).
In this painting, the black strokes represent one’s life full of good times and bad. However, sometimes you have to take a different journey to see what’s on the other side. It’s essential to remember that the dark intervals of life don’t last a lifetime.
Our verdicts help shape our future because whatever choice we make today can impact how our life will play out in the future. That’s what the white and yellow strokes represent – it’s is the willingness to change for the greater good. You don’t have to walk down the dark trails or make them your ultimate destination as long as you’re eager to work for the better.
The white and yellow tint denotes hope, light, love, and, most importantly, change! You will never go astray in the pits of darkness if you believe in embracing change for the betterment of your life. You can cross the “Life Lines” and reach toward something superior as long as you stay hopeful and work hard. The challenges you’re facing right now are temporary. Remember, something good is waiting for you on the other side.
The Dark paths can be subjective to the view. However, the light is definite to represent peace even on a dark path. No matter how obscure life seems, light can always overcome the darkest hours. All the “Life Lines” are connected to one another by hope, love, and light, which teaches us that there’s no room for despair.
Life is undoubtedly a sequence of different choices that we make every single day. There’s no doubt that these decisions take us to different paths. It may seem quite perplexing to embrace change or take a different route to greet something better, but you’ll find out that it was worth it in the end!
